Toru Sakane, a professor from the Faculty of Law Hosei University, Japan, visited the PRISB research center on Tuesday, 27th April 2021. The visit was a part of his one-week-sabbatical visit to Banda Aceh. Prof Sakane is planning research on the reconstruction of infrastructures and utilization of disaster heritage in Aceh after the 2004 Sumatra Great Earthquake and tsunami: consideration focusing on previous research in Japan and Analysis of the Current Situation in the Field. He is also going to do feedback about his presentation in June.
“Today’s meeting is very much significant for each future research and our possible collaborations,” added Prof Sakane
He was welcomed by the director of the PRISB research center, Dr. Alfi Rahman, and researchers in PRISB, including Dr. Rosaria Indah, Dr. Syahrul, Dr. Wiwit Artika, and Herizal, M.IP. A warm discussion about social researches conducted around disaster heritage in Aceh was held, and we exchanged experiences of researching disaster-affected areas.
